Before working at Hiawatha, the frustration feels like spinning too many plates and no one will come alongside you to help. Hiawatha is different in that, no matter what my problem, my co-workers and administration will come alongside me and help me. That makes me feel more loyal to the company and their mission. One of the things that has stuck through me during nursing school is, “Know your teams strengths” ~ Annette Fennern

I felt like I was running from patient to patient trying to get everything done. I didn't feel like a successful nurse at a previous employer.
I felt that the people in my care deserved more of my time and attention. The frustration I felt seemed like I'd failed my patients and I'd failed as a nurse. This was not what I went to nursing school for!
I hadn't considered home health care until seeing Hiawatha Home Care's website and reading the story of how the company began. To take care of patients they way I would want my loved ones being taken care of was the main motivation that made me want to become a nurse.
When I was able to give family caregivers relief and function as a nurse that wasn't rushing to meet a deadline, I felt like I was making a difference. It gave me the emotional rewards and fulfillment I sought from helping others.
Life is less stressful and much more satisfying when your career is on track and you feel supported by your employer.

What environment is the best fit for you?
To create a great career in nursing that works for you, it is important to really know yourself.
Some nurses thrive on the excitement of a busy emergency ward.
Others prefer quiet, long term, one-on-one attention they can give patients in the home care setting.
If you thrive on giving one-on-one attention, we’d love to meet you.
