We appreciate our staff!

Honoring team members who contribute a little extra. Every month we like to honor those individuals on our team who contribute a little extra, even beyond the normal exceptional service all our Caregivers provide.

April 2026

We’re pleased to announce our April 2026 Caregiver of the Month: Betty Bright 🎉

Some bonds are built on more than words. Over nearly five years with Hiawatha, Betty has built a deep connection with her client—and it shows in every shift.

Though her client is non-verbal, Betty understands him deeply. She anticipates his needs, responds to his cues, and creates a sense of comfort and trust that puts everyone in the home at ease.

His family especially appreciates Betty’s consistency. Even with a 40-minute drive, she rarely misses a shift and always arrives excited to see their son.

As a night nurse, Betty gives this family something priceless: a chance to rest.

“We are incredibly grateful for Betty and have complete peace of mind knowing our son is in such capable hands while we are able to sleep.”

Betty, thank you for the care, connection, and reassurance you provide night after night. We’re grateful for you, too! 🙌✨

We’re pleased to announce our March 2026 Caregiver of the Month: Amanda Yotter 🎉

Some of the most important parts of caregiving aren’t spoken.

For clients who are nonverbal, communication is built through presence, patience, and the ability to read the small cues others might miss.

That’s precisely why Amanda was nominated.

Her client shared that even though Amanda is only in a temporary role, she’s made a big impression—because she was able to connect and communicate with him quickly. For someone who’s nonverbal, that kind of attunement isn’t just nice. It’s everything.

Asked what she loves about homecare, Amanda puts it simply:

“I enjoy being able to provide personalized, one-on-one care to my patients with Hiawatha and allow them to live their best lives possible at home with their families and loved ones.”

Congratulations, Amanda—and thank you for giving the kind of care that helps clients feel seen and understood, even without words. We appreciate you!

We’re pleased to announce our February 2026 Caregiver of the Month: Nathan Prissel! 🎉

Nathan has stepped into homecare physical therapy “in full stride,” bringing a work ethic and dependability our patients feel right away.

His supervisor, Josh Stewart, says it best: “Nathan is incredibly hard-working and a quick learner with all aspects of the job (and there are many!). His patients appreciate his attention to detail and his high standard of compassionate care.”

Nathan’s impact has also helped patients get seen sooner. “Management of our busy referrals has improved significantly since he started, with much shorter wait times for patients,” Josh shares. “You deserve this, Nathan! Thank you for all that you do for our patients, this therapy team, and our agency!”

For Nathan, the culture at Hiawatha makes all the difference. “Working here is rewarding because of the incredible people and the leadership,” he shares. “They prioritize both the big picture and the small details that make me feel truly valued as an employee.”

“By maintaining a highly efficient small team, they’ve managed to keep our workloads healthy. This allows us to do what we do and enjoy best: provide exceptional care to the Red Wing community… while still having plenty of energy left for our families when we get home.”

Nathan—congrats, and thank you for your dedication and the difference you’re making every day  🙌 ✨

We’re pleased to announce our January 2026 Caregiver of the Month: Carey Krugmire! 🎉

When Carey walks into a room, she doesn’t just see a patient, she sees a person. Her client is nonverbal, but she speaks directly to him, waits for his facial cues, and includes him in every interaction.

As his mom shared, Carey meets his medical needs “with professionalism, while at the same time being relational and making conversation”—ensuring he always feels seen and included.

For Carey, that connection runs both ways. She says she’s grateful to serve a client and family who have welcomed her so warmly. “My days are filled with smiles, music, and laughter!”

She also feels supported by the organization behind her: “Hiawatha takes very good care of both their clients and their staff, and you don’t feel like just a number.”

Her client’s family feels that dedication every day, and says: “Thank you, Carey, for making my son’s days full—and for your amazing care!”

And from all of us at Hiawatha, thank you, Carey, for the care and presence you bring into the home every day. Congrats!! 💚

We’re pleased to announce our December Caregiver of the Month: Kadence Korsten Prall! 🎉

Kadence’s kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care shine through in every home she enters.

She shares, “My favorite part about working for Hiawatha is that I get to meet and get to know so many great people. I build relationships with clients and their families, and it’s rewarding to support them in ways that can make a difference.”

Her supervisor, Heather Goodie, notes that Kadence consistently receives wonderful feedback. “Families describe her as kind, a great listener, and incredibly thorough,” she says.

Kadence, thank you for bringing such heart, professionalism, and steady compassion to your work. You make a difference every single day — and we’re grateful to have you on the Hiawatha team. 💚

November Caregiver of the Month: Lisa Adams 🎉

We’re thrilled to recognize Lisa Adams as our November Caregiver of the Month! Lisa’s compassion and gratitude shine through in everything she does.

Thank you for such an inspiring honor,” she shares. “I enjoy working for such a great company. Nona, Jenny, and Ashley — to name a few — are always so helpful and cheerful.”

That sense of teamwork and connection is matched by her humility. “I am blessed to help those in need,” Lisa says. “They are the ones who truly taught me to be humble.”

Her supervisor, Heather Goodie, notes that Lisa has quickly become a dependable part of her client’s care team, often stepping up to pick up extra evening shifts in the home. Her help has made a real difference, offering Grandma extra support at bedtime.

“I’m so thankful for the opportunity to be a nurse,” Lisa adds, “and for the lifelong commitment to help others in need.”
